Governor-elect Jeff Landry says one of his transition committees will focus its attention on New Orleans.

During her weekly press conference on Wednesday, Mayor LaToya Cantrell said Landry's decision indicates that he understands the importance of New Orleans to the state of Louisiana.

At his own press conference in Lafayette, Landry says New Orleans has "a lot of problems" to address, including crime.

New Orleans resident Boysie Bollinger, who headed Bollinger Shipyards for years, will chair the committee.
