A Tickfaw man is facing charges for allegedly starting a fire on purpose.
State officials say Robin Crawford called 911 and threatened to set a fire near Old Genessee Road last weekend, then started one before officers were able to arrest him.
However, crews were able to get the fire under control before it spread.
The charges against Crawford include simple arson and violating the burn ban.
