Jefferson Parish To Receive $19M FEMA Grant To Harden Power Infrastructure

Jefferson Parish is on the receiving end of a $19 million federal grant to strengthen its power infrastructure.

U.S. Representative Troy Carter and Mitch Landrieu, senior adviser to President Biden, announced the grant.

They said the money will fund Entergy's installation of new power poles and wires that can withstand hurricane winds of up to 150 miles per hour.

The grant is part of $200 million in FEMA funding that will be used to bolster Louisiana's infrastructure against supposed climate change threats.
