Edwards Cuts Ribbon On High-Speed Internet Service In Lafourche Parish

High-speed Internet is making its debut in Lafourche Parish.

Gov. John Bel Edwards was in Thibodaux on Monday to cut the ribbon on the newly completed Lafourche Crossing project.

Edwards was joined by Congressmen Troy Carter and former Mayor Mitch Landrieu.

Lafourche Crossing is part of the "Granting Unserved Municipalities Broadband Opportunities" project, or GUMBO.

So far, more than 100 homes and businesses in Lafourche Parish are hooked up to high-speed Internet.
