Couple Arrested After Having Argument That Blocked Traffic In Chalmette

A couple faces charges after getting into a fight that delayed traffic in Chalmette on Tuesday.

St. Bernard Parish narcotics agents spotted a man and woman arguing outside a car that was stopped in the middle of East St. Bernard Highway.

The couple were identified as 37-year-old Terrell Perkins and 31-year-old Jaranique Goins.

After a struggle with Perkins, agents searched the car and found varying amounts of crack cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, and Tramadol, along with a gun.

They arrested Perkins for resisting an officer, obstruction of justice, and drug and weapons charges.

Goins was arrested for blocking traffic.
