Kenner Police have arrested a man accused of setting multiple fires Wednesday morning.
Authorities said 23-year-old Samir Hernandez went to the Walmart at 8912 Veterans Blvd. and set clothes on fire, filling the store with smoke.
Hernandez is also accused of starting a fire at the Home Depot next to the Walmart, along with trash can fires in front of homes near the intersections of Filmore St. and Rev. Richard Wilson Blvd. and Roosevelt Blvd. and Airline Hwy.
No injuries were reported, but the Walmart is closed for the time being.
Hernandez has been charged with two counts of Aggravated Arson, two counts of Aggravated Criminal Damage, two counts of Simple Arson and two counts of Simple Criminal Damage. A motive is not known at this time.
