A heavy rain threat remains for southeast Louisiana, with a slight risk of flash flooding through Thursday morning, despite tropical formation now unlikely in the Gulf of Mexico.
The concern is that two to four inches an hour could fall, causing scattered flash flooding.
The National Hurricane Center has lowered formation chances in the northern Gulf to near zero percent, as the surface trough is expected to move inland over the next few days.
"Regardless of development, heavy rains will pose a risk of flash flooding along portions of the northern Gulf coast from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle over the next several days," said the NHC.
