U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy says he's "thinking about" making a run for Louisiana governor in 2023.

The Republican Senator addressed the state Legislature last Wednesday.

When asked if he's interested in running for governor, Cassidy said he was considering it, but right now is focused on what he's trying to accomplish in Washington, D.C.

Cassidy was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2014 and was reelected in 2020.

Gov. John Bel Edwards, a Democrat, can't run for reelection next year because of term limits.
