State Health Officials Add Over 15,000 To COVID-19 Presumed Recovered Total

The Louisiana Department of Health updated the number of presumed recovered from COVID-19 in the state to 217,930 Wednesday, an increase of 15,039 from last week.

LDH added another 4,339 reported cases to the statewide total, which stood at 258,914.

"Today marks nine months since the first case of COVID-19 was identified in Louisiana," said state health officials. "Today’s case count is also the highest number of new cases reported without a backlog since that first case was identified on March 9."

The death toll rose by 32 to 6,684 while hospitalizations were up by 21 to 1,537. Of those, 177 patients are on ventilators, an increase of 12 from Tuesday.
