Louisiana Health Officials Report Additional 884 COVID-19 Cases, 17 Deaths

The Louisiana Department of Health reported an additional 884 COVID-19 cases Thursday.

This brought the running total of coronavirus cases statewide since the pandemic began to 150,651 following the daily removal of newly identified duplicates and out of state cases.

Most of the new cases were collected between August 26 and September 2. 35% involved those 29 and under. 27% are from those between the ages of 18 and 29.

17 additional deaths were also reported, bringing that count to 4,858.

Hospitalizations from COVID-19 decreased by 22 to 851, while the number of those patients needing ventilators fell by four to 128.
