Time To Spring Forward As Daylight Saving Time Begins This Weekend

Clocks go forward

Residents across the state are losing an hour of sleep this weekend as Daylight Saving Time comes to an end around 2 a.m. Sunday morning.

The country will spring forward one hour to 3 a.m., which means any clocks you have which do not automatically update will need to be done by hand.

Fire officials have long urged people to use the time change as an opportunity to make sure their smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors are in proper working order by refreshing the batteries in each device.

Clocks will stay on this new time until after Halloween when they again fall back an hour on November 1st.
