HUD Issues Guidance For Louisiana Flood Mitigation Plan

A notice is being issued by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the $1.2 billion in funding to help with long-term flood risk reduction.

The money will go towards building flood-protection projects and collecting data on water movements across the state.

Louisiana must spend at least half of the money on the ten parishes who were most severely impacted by the floods of 2016, including Acadia, Ascension, East Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Livingston, Ouachita, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Vermillion and Washington.

You can read the notice on HUD's website.
