For the first time ever, the Mystic Krewe of Nyx is announcing a summer parade.
Anyone who may have missed them during Mardi Gras will get another chance this summer as they roll down a new route on July 27th. The Krewe, which is known for its signature purses they toss into the crowd, will instead be giving out bedazzled plastic beach shovels.
The founder and captain says the summer way is a great way go generate additional revenue for the city over the summer and will help bridge from one Mardi Gras season to the next.
