FOX 8: NOPD Identifies Bourbon Street Shooter

(WVUE/FOX 8) The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a double shooting in the French Quarter Friday morning.

The double shooting happened at the intersection of Bourbon and Conti streets. The incident happened around 4:58 a.m, according to NOPD.

According to Commander Nick Gernon, officers heard shots fired in the street and were able to apprehend two suspects who were fleeing the scene. 

According to Gernon, one of the suspects, Aaron Hill, 27, made statements indicating that he was the shooter.  

Another gun that was found at the scene belonged to one of the victims, according to NOPD Public Information Officer Juan Barnes. 

Gernon said the Real Time Crime Center was able to capture the moments before the shooting. 

The suspects approached the two victims, fired shots, and then fled, according to Gernon. 

Gernon said there was no altercation prior to the shooting. 

The victims were identified as a 37-year-old male and a 28-year-old male. One victim was shot in the leg and one was shot in stomach, according to Gernon. Their injuries were considered non-life threatening and they are stable at an area hospital.
