Edwards Wants To Spend Surplus On Infrastructure

A majority of surplus funds left over from the last fiscal year in Louisiana could wind up helping pay for some infrastructure needs in the state.

That's what Governor Edwards is proposing for the funds that must be used on one-time expenses.

Of the $123 million surplus, he wants a large chunk of it to go to 23 transportation projects. At least $31 million has to be placed into the state's "rainy day" fund.
