Orleans Parish District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro says he will seek the death penalty for Darren Bridges if he's convicted of killing a New Orleans police officer.
Authorities say Bridges was arrested after exchanging gunfire with Officer Marcus McNeil the morning of October 13th.
A grand jury indicted Bridges on eight felony counts ranging from first-degree murder to possession of drugs with the intent to distribute them.
