The mother of former star LSU football player and Arizona Cardinals defensive back Tyrann Mathieu is one of three nurses sentenced yesterday on federal Medicare fraud charges.
Sheila Mathieu, a former Zulu Carnival queen, was ordered to serve a one-year probation term. Investigators say she was involved in a scheme to steal $30 million from Medicare.
Another of yesterday's defendants was sentenced to more than 14-months in prison.
